Blog Entry 1 - 3/15/2017 - A STORY ABOUT #FAITHinAction

Hello Friends,

This website has a lot about Faith.. like... alot... and here is even more.. ha ha... ha...

If you are so brave as to venture even deeper into my mind at the moment, I'd love to share a bit more with you. :)

I've been thinking a lot about how to personally transcend facebook activism, lately. In a very roundabout way, it's what has led us both to

this blog. While I think that particular work is important and absolutely valued, I also think that our networks are so curated that 9 times

out of ten, we are sharing information with people that already agree with us. What I have witnessed personally is that Facebook is indeed

cultivating community, but not so much action that s actually effective for any of our 5trillion causes. This is a fairly new, exciting way that

we all have to connect, especially surrounding social issues, but I got worried that I personally was spending lots of time on facebook, yelling

at internet trolls, and not a lot of time actually helping to improve issues that are important to me. So, I started to think about what

power I had to change that and came up with two things.

1.Find a way to share positivity in the world, and at the very least, filter that into my friend network as opposed to more of the same articles about the same upsetting things. (My instagram, This Blog)

2. Actually frickin do something! (Call State Reps, Get involved with Local BLM, Help the Children, Create, CreATE, CREATE!, Consume, Rest, Good Self-care, Watch the News Even Though it Hurts, READ!, Consider sleep, occasionally actually do that.)

So far, these two things have been going  pretty well, except I got busy this week and have not kept up with Instagram. But Instagram this

week has also showed me that I need people to keep me honest. So, I invite you all on this journey with me. To experience my triumphs and

failures at making the world better. To hear stories about others that are indeed making the world better. to VERY SPARINGLY, hear about

those that are making the world worse. Because really, with the state of the world, every victory is OUR Victory. Every Failure is OUR

Failure. Rather we like it or not, we're ALL in this together, and until we share our stories with one another and really LISTEN to them, I'm

afraid, nothing will change. These stories are mine. I invite you into them. Invite someone into your own. Invite everyone if you are so

inclined. Create even more stories, because you can. No one can take that away from you, ever. And regardless of how hard some people are

trying, the only way people get to control what your story says is if you let them.

Carry on. Create. Live Love. Encourage Life.

Happy Storytelling,

Faith
